Lovely Little Bits Luncheon

Yesterday I went to a lovely luncheon with my friends from my miniature quilt group - Little Bits.  We had a potluck salad picnic in Leota's lovely backyard which overlooks the whole valley.  She has beautiful flowers everywhere and it was a wonderful afternoon spent with great friends.  We were celebrating summer birthdays and I mentioned this once before, but this year, in our group of nine ladies, we had one turn 88, two turn 77, two turn 66 and one turn 55.  What a funny coincidence!

Sherida saw this picture in a magazine or on Facebook or somewhere and made it for her grandson for his high school graduation!  She had to make up her own pattern from the picture.  It is all done in flannel, except the ties and bow ties are made from old ties that her husband had worn, so there is something from grandma and grandpa in this quilt  What a treasure!

She cleverly named the quilt "Always Suit Yourself in Life".  The label includes some of the tags from the neckties.  It's a great quilt.  A lot of love went into the making of it!

Max, on one of her travels, found this bow tie fabric for Sherida so she made a pillowcase to go with the quilt!

Her grandson also received a quilt from the ladies at his church.  What a lucky guy!

These beautiful poppies and flowers are in my yard right now!  Bobbi, another member of Little Bits, helped us with this planter area in our front yard last year and it's looking lovely!  She is a master gardener as well as a quilter :)

Have a wonderful day!!
