The Cliffs of Moher

On Friday afternoon we visited the stunning Cliffs of Moher. When Mike and I went four years ago, we had only a short time to take some pictures.  This time, Michelle and I had an hour and a half, but could have easily spent twice that amount of time.  Besides the stunning cliffs and some great hiking trails, there is a very nice visitors center there with all kinds of great information, not to mention Murphy's Ice Cream :)  If you go, make sure you allow at least a half day!

The trails maintained have walls, but once you leave the maintained area, the trails just drop off - it was a little freaky and I'm not even afraid of heights usually!  The trail goes for miles and miles around the cliffs.

We stayed at The Burren Atlantic Hotel in Ballyvaughan, County Clare, that night.  There was a tidal pool out in front of the hotel and you can kind of see the swan in this picture.

Apparently this is what happens if you drive your car off the end of the pier.

Another fun day!!
